-------------- General Note -------------- The database is a collection of environmental data for 26450 inventory points in the 4x4km base grid of the German National Forest Inventory (germ. Bundeswaldinventur). The data base is currently being reviewed by external experts and therefore NOT the FINAL VERSION (hence the suffix _pre). Once the review process has terminated it is planned to move the data base from the bwi.info site of the Thünen institute of forest ecosystems to the openagrar.de-server of the German Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture where it receives a permanent doi (digital object identifier). The data were raised in the project WP-KS-KW (Waldproduktivität - Kohlenstoffspeicherung - Klimawandel = Forest productivity - Carbon sequestration - Climate change). The project is funded by the Waldklimafonds (Forest Climate Funds) of the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL) and the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety (BMUB) and hosted by the Federal Office for Agriculture and Food (BLE). --------- Content --------- Current content: (1) - site unit and characteristic soil profile with data for horizons (soil type, physics, water, fertility a.o.) - documentations folder (c.f. Documentation) Expected until Sep 30, 2017: (2) - soil characteristics from geostatistical regionalisation with data for layers (0-30cm and 30-60cm) (3) - regionalised climate parameters from weather station data 1961-2013 and projected data 2011-2050 (STARS) and 2011-2100 (REMO); MPI ESM ECHAM6 RCPs 2.6/4.5/8.5; monthly, seasonal, annual and multi-annual aggregation (4) - water balance from LWF Brook90 model for standardised spruce and beech stands based on the soil profile and climate data 1961-2013 and 2011-2100 (REMO, RCPs 2.6/4.5/8.5); monthly, seasonalannual and multi-annual aggregation ---------------- Documentation ---------------- Each database, datasheet and parameter is documented in within the data base, both in German and English. Pdf-documentations are zipped in the folder . They are only in German. A reduced English guide is foreseen for Sep, 2017. Data publications in an international forestry journal are in preparation and partly already in the review process.
